This park was my first peace after moving to Minnesota. New Denmark Park is across the street from where I used to live.
With the perfect amount of sidewalks and grass, the park lends to easy walking. There are just enough trees to lend shade without obstructing views. Several benches and tables are spaced out in such a way that you can have a quiet spot even if others are around.
My favorite parts, however, are the sculptures and the bridge. There is a fountain sculpture of a Dane and (the one I really prefer) a sculpture of a mermaid on a rock just off of shore. She was modeled after the Coppenhagen Little Mermaid. The bridge is lovely because it adds another fun path to a tiny island. For some reason the breeze is always kind when I go here.
