About

North Star Story Map is a collaboration between the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Minnesota, Mill City Museum, and the Minnesota Historical Society. It is a project created to connect the people of Minnesota to their built environment, recognizing that every built space holds memories and meaning of different kinds for different people. North Star Story Map brings forward the stories of the places of Minnesota that matter to its people.

How will my story be used?
By sharing a story, you are agreeing to let it be displayed on the North Star Story Map website and potentially on the websites and social media connected to AIA Minnesota, their magazine ENTER, and the Minnesota Historical Society. If there is an opportunity to share your story through a news outlet or in another way, we will always contact you for your permission first!

Why isn’t my story posted immediately?
We review each story before it is posted to the website to ensure it does not contain private addresses, inappropriate language, or inaccurate facts about a place (e.g. the wrong year the place was built). We will not edit your voice or the content of your story. We are a small team, so it may take a few days before your story is live. We will send you an email once it is posted!

If you have any questions about the review process, please contact us at nssm@aia-mn.org.
